Other Niche AU Bank Credit Cards

Apart from the above mainstream cards, Au Bank also offers a few niche and co-brand cards.

  • AU CA Metal and AU CS credit cards (both lifetime-free): Built exclusively for CAs and CSs, earning 2 points per ₹100 generally and up to 8 on accelerated categories, including tax payments and software purchases.
  • LIT Credit Card (lifetime free): A customisable credit card with paid addons to be chosen as per your lifestyle.
  • AU SPONT Credit Card (₹299): A entry-level card with 1% flat cashback on all spends, including UPI payments. Also offers railway lounge and domestic airport lounge access.
  • InstaPay Credit Card (₹0, RuPay, UPI-enabled): A virtual-only, lifetime-free card, but only issued to people who already hold another AU Bank credit card.
  • ABC Nxt and ABC Flex (lifetime free): A co-brand card with Aditya Birla Finance that offers points on grocery, departmental stores, utilities and education category spends.
  • ABC Biz (₹588 fee): AU's genuinely self-serve business card, earning up to 10 points per ₹100 on categories like groceries, utilities, education and government payments. ABC Pro variant (₹999 fee) is a higher-earning business card, with both domestic and international lounge access.
  • Traverse Credit Card (₹4,999): A low-forex card built specifically for NRIs who travel often, with international and domestic lounge visits and lifestyle perks.

Apart from these cards, AU Bank also offers co-branded cards in collaboration with Cheq, PayTM and ixigo. Then, AU Purchase, Corporate and Business Cashback credit cards are available exclusively to business.

AU Bank Credit Card Against Fixed Deposit

If your credit history is thin, non-existent or bruised, AU's NOMO card is the best starting point. It's secured against a fixed deposit of at least ₹20,000, and AU sets your credit limit against that deposit rather than asking for income proof.

The FD keeps earning interest the entire time it backs the card, and it carries real features on top. It offers 2 points per ₹100, low forex charges, and railway and domestic airposrt lounge access.

The joining fee is a modest ₹199, with no ongoing annual fee.

Treat it as a credit-building tool first and a rewards card second. Once your score clears roughly 700. you can graduate to an unsecured card. Our broader guide to picking your first credit card in India covers the decision beyond just AU's own lineup.

Lounge Access & Travel Perks on AU Bank Cards

AU Bank Card Devaluations: What Changed

AU revised its credit card terms on 10 April 2026, and two changes are worth knowing. Reward points on transportation merchant category codes, that includes airlines, cabs and related travel bookings have been devalued to zero. Also, the quarterly spend gate for domestic airport lounge access moved from ₹20,000 to ₹50,000 across most cards in AU's catalogue.

The ixigo AU Credit Card took a harder hit three days later, on 13 April 2026. Its accelerated earn rate of 10 points per ₹200 online and 5 points per ₹200 offline was replaced with a flat 2.5% return, and its lounge threshold rose the same way, from ₹20,000 to ₹50,000 a quarter.

AU has become a landing spot for fintech partners — Fi moved here after its Federal Bank co-branded credit card was discontinued in March 2026.

None of this makes AU's cards bad. It makes the fine print worth reading before you apply.

Which AU Bank Card Should You Get?

If you're building credit from zero or repairing a damaged score, NOMO is the one to pick. It asks for a ₹20,000 FD instead of income proof, that FD keeps earning interest while it works, and every on-time payment builds real credit history.

Check our credit cards for beginners guide if you want a second opinion outside AU's own lineup.

If you want an AU Bank RuPay credit card, KOSMO is the cleanest lifetime-free option. It runs on RuPay the way UPI-native spending expects. If your spending is high enough to justify a fee, Xcite Ultra is the stronger RuPay pick, trading a ₹749 annual cost for accelerated rewards and domestic lounge access that KOSMO doesn't offer.

If you want a genuinely free card with decent everyday earning, LIT or AU KOSMO both work; LIT stays flexible enough to bolt on paid perks through the AU 0101 app later if your needs change, while KOSMO stays purpose-built for UPI. Either one is a reasonable lifetime free credit card.

If you want toward everyday cashback rather than points, Altura at ₹199 is the strongest low-fee card. The fee effectively disappears once you cross ₹40,000 in annual spend. Step up to Altura Plus at ₹499 once your spending justifies the higher accelerated rate.

If you're chasing lounge access and milestone rewards, Ananta at ₹2,000 is the strongest new entry. Worth chasing if your spending reaches ₹10 lakh milestone target annually.

Zenith and Zenith+ are AU's top standard cards for spenders who want the highest rewards on dining and groceries specifically.

FAQs about AU Bank Credit Cards

What are the benefits of AU Bank credit cards?

AU Bank credit card benefits range by tier. Entry cards like LIT and KOSMO give you a genuinely free line of credit with basic rewards. Mid-tier card like Altura adds cashback and railway lounge for a modest fee. Premium cards like Ananta and Zenith add domestic and international airport lounge access, milestone bonuses, and accelerated rewards on dining, travel and international spends.

Does AU Bank have a RuPay credit card?

Yes. AU KOSMO is AU's lifetime-free RuPay credit card, built for UPI spending with no annual fee at any point. Xcite Ultra is also confirmed on the RuPay network, at a ₹749 annual fee, and adds accelerated rewards plus domestic lounge access that KOSMO doesn't carry.

Is the AU Altura credit card good?

Altura is a solid low-fee cashback card if your spending is moderate. At ₹199 a year (waived if you spend ₹40,000 annually), it earns 1% cashback generally and 2% on top categories, plus railway lounge access. But these rewards are capped at ₹50 per cycle.

What's the difference between AU Altura and Altura Plus?

Altura Plus costs more, ₹499 against Altura's ₹199, and needs a higher ₹80,000 in annual spend to waive the fee. In exchange, it adds a points layer on top of cashback and a higher accelerated rate for offline retail spending. If your spend is modest, Altura's lower fee and lower waiver threshold make it the easier card to keep free. If you spend meaningfully more, particularly in offline retail, Altura Plus earns back the difference.

What are AU Bank's new Ananta, Lakshya, Tejas and Prathama credit cards?

These are four cards AU launched across 2026, spanning premium to entry-level. Ananta (₹2,000 fee) is the premium card with lounge access and a ₹10 lakh milestone target. Tejas (₹500) focuses on lifestyle discounts like food delivery and movies. Lakshya (₹1,000) is a family/grocery-focused everyday card, and Prathama (₹100) is a low-fee card for first-time users and light spenders.

Is there an AU Bank credit card against fixed deposit?

Yes. NOMO is AU's FD-secured card, built for applicants with no credit history or a damaged score. You pledge a single-owner fixed deposit of at least ₹20,000 as collateral, get a credit limit based on that deposit, and the FD keeps earning interest throughout. No income proof is required.

What is the minimum income needed for an AU Bank credit card?

AU doesn't publish one fixed income floor across its lineup the way some larger issuers do. Expect a minimum of ₹15,000 a month for an entry card like KOSMO and ₹1.5–2 lakh a month for Zenith at the top. Approval also leans on your credit score and existing banking relationship with AU.

A Personal Take on AU Bank Credit Cards

When I tested AU’s cards, what stood out was the diversity: there’s something here for everyone, whether you’re rebuilding credit or looking for lounge perks. The NOMO card genuinely impressed me; it’s a confidence booster for people beginning their credit journey without fear of rejection.

The Zenith card, though premium, feels worth it only if you comfortably hit those spend thresholds. For practical, low-cost users, Altura Plus offers tidy rewards without pressure.

If you’re someone starting out, maybe with little credit history, AU’s FD-backed option is a dependable route. If you’re more experienced, Zenith and Altura can give you the benefits you want without over-complication. Either way, spend what you can pay off completely and enjoy the perks responsibly.
