ICICI Sapphiro Lounge Access List 2026: 4 Domestic + 2 International

A friend nearly got turned away at Bengaluru airport. Not because her card was declined, but because nobody had told her the lounge access depended on what they spent in the previous quarter.

That was the thing ICICI's marketing page didn't say. It said "complimentary lounge access." The lounge desk said, "Ma'am, your card shows no visits available."

If you hold the ICICI Sapphiro Credit Card, or you're deciding whether it's worth the ₹3,500 annual fee, this is the guide I wish I had shared with her before that afternoon at the airport.

For domestic lounges, you don't need a separate membership card. Show your Sapphiro card and boarding pass at the entrance, and the lounge places a ₹2 hold on the card (₹1 on Amex).

⚠️ Not open to Sapphiro: the 080 VIP Lounges at Bengaluru (Terminals 1 and 2) and the Privé Lounges at Delhi Terminal 1 and Hyderabad are reserved for Diamant, Emeralde Private Metal and Times Black cardholders. Lounges on this list can still turn you away when they're full, since entry is first come, first served.

ICICI Sapphiro International Lounge Access: Priority Pass, 2 Visits a Year

The Sapphiro gives 2 complimentary international lounge visits per year (not per quarter).

International access on Sapphiro runs through Priority Pass, for the primary cardholder only.

Your Priority Pass membership covers 1,900+ lounges in 145+ countries. Look up your airport and terminal on the Priority Pass lounge finder before you fly, since lounges change by terminal and day.

Lounges Indian Sapphiro holders frequently use internationally:

After your 2 complimentary international visits, further visits are charged at Priority Pass's per-visit rate and billed to your card.

Guest access at international lounges: Chargeable from visit one. There is no complimentary guest pass. If you're travelling with your spouse and expecting both of you to walk into Marhaba Lounge Dubai for free, one of you will pay.

The ₹75,000 Spend Condition for Sapphiro Lounge Access

This is where Sapphiro holders get caught out most often. The condition is specific:

To use domestic lounges in a calendar quarter, you need to have spent at least ₹75,000 on your Sapphiro card in the previous calendar quarter. ICICI's Sapphiro page attaches this rule to domestic access; the 2 international visits are complimentary.

So for lounge access in April–June, your January–March spend needs to cross ₹75,000. Miss that threshold and your lounge access is deactivated for the following quarter, even if you've been using the card regularly.

Two things trip people up. Rent, EMI, government and education payments, fees and interest don't count towards the ₹75,000. And ICICI's own worked example counts spends until the 25th of a month, so aim to clear ₹75,000 by the 25th of the quarter's last month, not the 31st.

The same rule now covers most of ICICI's catalogue. From 1 July 2026, ICICI also extended the ₹75,000 quarterly spend requirement to MakeMyTrip and Adani One cards, which were exempt before.

What to do before your next trip: open iMobile, check last quarter's Sapphiro spend, and confirm your domestic visits show as available. If you hold the Mastercard + Amex pair, check each card, since each gets 2. Do this a week before you fly, not at the lounge desk.

Sapphiro vs Coral vs Emeralde: Lounge Access Compared

Does Sapphiro Pay for Itself on Lounge Access Alone?

Annual fee: ₹3,500 + 18% GST = ₹4,130 all-in.

If you use 4 domestic visits per quarter across all four quarters: 16 visits per year. At an average day-use value of ₹800 per visit, that's ₹12,800 in lounge value: 3x the annual fee.

At half that usage (8 visits per year): ₹6,400 in lounge value. Still clears the fee with room.

At 4 visits per year (once a quarter, one per trip): ₹3,200. Close to break-even on lounge alone, which means the card's other benefits – the BOGO movie tickets on BookMyShow, the 2X reward points on domestic spend, the ₹3 crore air accident insurance – carry the rest of the justification.

The math works if you fly domestically at least 4–6 times a year. If you fly twice a year and internationally once, the Sapphiro is not primarily a lounge card. It is a mid-premium rewards card where lounge access is a solid side benefit rather than the headline reason to hold it.

Before you rely on your Sapphiro lounge access for a trip, verify all of these:

What Real Sapphiro Cardholders Say?

On r/CreditCardsIndia, Sapphiro comes up in three consistent contexts: lounge access questions, the annual fee waiver (₹6 lakh spend threshold), and whether the card is worth holding alongside a primary rewards card.

The most repeated lounge frustrations:

The guest fee surprise. Multiple users report assuming a spouse or travel companion could enter for free. They couldn't. The post-trip statement showed the guest charge. ICICI's marketing copy doesn't make this prominent.

The quarterly reset confusion. Some users report their visit counter not resetting correctly at the start of a new quarter. ICICI customer care resolves this but it requires a call and sometimes 24–48 hours. Don't try to walk into a lounge on the first day of a new quarter and assume the reset is automatic in the system.

Monzy’s verdict

The ICICI Sapphiro is a good lounge card for the ₹3,000–₹5,000 annual fee bracket. Four domestic visits a quarter is more than most cards at this fee give you, and the 2 Priority Pass visits a year cover an occasional trip abroad.

But you need ₹75,000 a quarter on this card for domestic lounge access; rent and EMIs don't count towards it. Also, complimentary international visits are 2 a year (rather than 2 a quarter), and guests have to pay. None of this rules the card out, but it does mean checking before you fly.

If you fly internationally more than twice a year and want meaningful international lounge access, the Emeralde's quarterly international allocation makes more sense. If you fly domestically 4+ times a year and want a card that earns decent rewards alongside airport access, the Sapphiro does the job cleanly.
