The iPhone 17 Pro Max HDFC offer you can use right now is on Amazon. Its Great Indian Festival Diwali Edition started on 28 October 2026 and gives a 10% instant discount on HDFC Bank credit cards and credit card EMI.

Getting excited about the deal is good. It's the fine print that hurts. Amazon shows a cap of just ₹1,250, and only on EMI. Pay in full and it’s ₹750.

For the 256GB model, plan on paying roughly ₹1,43,650 on EMI or ₹1,44,150 on full payment, not the ₹1,30,000 that the 10% off makes you picture. This guide has every HDFC offer we found on this phone in one table, along with the EMI maths and reward points.

Why this phone is suddenly so cheap

The price cuts started when Apple discontinued the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max on 9 September 2026, when the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max launched. Apple India's store no longer sells the 17 Pro Max, so what's left is retailer stock being cleared out.

Then the bank partner changed. Amazon’s Great Indian Festival sale ran from 8 to 20 October 2026, and its 10% partner was SBI. We covered it in our Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 bank offers guide. The Diwali Edition Amazon announced uses HDFC instead.

If you have an HDFC card, this is the window to get your hands on a discounted iPhone 17 Pro Max. Amazon hasn't given an end date for the offer yet.

Amazon's 10% HDFC discount: what ₹1,44,900 actually becomes

Everything here depends on how you pay. Let's run both cases.

The maths: EMI vs full payment

Listed price: ₹1,44,900

On HDFC credit card EMI: ₹1,44,900 − ₹1,250 = ₹1,43,650

On full payment: ₹1,44,900 − ₹750 = ₹1,44,150

If the offer really were an uncapped 10%: ₹1,44,900 − ₹14,490 = ₹1,30,410

The 10% discount (up to ₹1,250) is only for HDFC credit card EMI payments. If you’re paying the full amount using your HDFC credit card, you’re entitled to up to only ₹750 off.

The hidden cost in "no-cost" EMI on the iPhone 17 Pro Max

No-cost EMI isn't free. Here's how it works: the bank charges you interest, and the retailer gives you an upfront discount that's meant to cancel it out.

What nobody advertises is the 18% GST on that interest, which you pay, plus any processing fee shown on the EMI screen. HDFC sets out how its EMI conversion works on its EasyEMI page.

Here's an illustration on ₹1,40,000, assuming a 16% annual interest rate.

Tenure

Monthly EMI (approx.)

Interest offset by the discount

GST at 18% on that interest (you pay)

6 months

~₹24,435

~₹6,610

~₹1,190

12 months

~₹12,700

~₹12,420

~₹2,240

On a 12-month plan, the GST alone (about ₹2,240) is more than Amazon's HDFC discount of ₹1,250. That doesn't mean you should never use EMI. It means you should know what it costs before you agree to it.

Watch out for one more thing: the credit limit. The full ₹1.4 lakh is blocked on your card from day one and frees up only as you pay each EMI.

On a ₹2 lakh limit, that's 70% utilisation, which can pull down your CIBIL score for a few billing cycles. Our credit card CIBIL impact breakdown explains how much. If you're weighing EMI against a loan, read credit card EMI vs personal loan first.

Reward points can reduce the real price

If you pay the full amount in one go, your card's reward points come on top of the instant discount. Rough maths on a ₹1,44,150 Amazon bill:

Points / cashback

Approx. value

Real effective price

Infinia

~4,805 RP

~₹4,805 at up to ₹1/point on SmartBuy flights or hotels

~₹1,42,228

Millennia

5% on Amazon

Capped at ₹1,000 per statement cycle

₹1,000

~₹1,43,150

Points are only worth these amounts if you redeem them the right way, and HDFC has cut point values on several cards this year. Also, EMI transactions don't always earn the same rewards as a full swipe; on some cards they're excluded.

So, check your card's terms before you count these points as savings.

Should you still buy the 17 Pro Max now that the 18 Pro is out?

Well, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₹1,64,900. The 17 Pro Max on Amazon with the HDFC offer comes to about ₹1,43,650, so you save roughly ₹21,250 by buying last year's bigger phone. For most people, that's a sensible saving.

But factor in the low stock. Retailers are selling what's left, colours and storage options are disappearing, and an exchange deal depends entirely on the stock.

If you're weighing the newer model, our iPhone 18 real cost on a credit card guide does the maths.

So, which card should I actually use?

Before you pick a card, check Croma. It lists the phone at ₹1,36,990, which is lower than every route above, including Infinia on Amazon. Confirm it’s in stock at that price. Reliance Digital’s online HDFC offer (up to ₹7,000 off on EMI of six months or longer) brings it to about ₹1,38,990, but that’s EMI, so the GST on interest applies.

If HDFC is your only card, pay the full amount on Amazon with your best reward-earning HDFC card. With Infinia, that's about ₹1,39,345 after points. Only use the 6-month no-cost EMI if paying everything at once would empty your emergency fund.

If you don’t have a high-reward HDFC card but you do have an SBI card, Flipkart is cheaper at about ₹1,42,900. Check the offer terms on the product page first.

Caps change without notice, so check the discount line on your checkout screen before you put ₹1.4 lakh on a card. You can compare cards for your own spending on Monzy. The final price is the one on that screen, and with these numbers you can judge it yourself.

FAQs about iPhone 17 Pro Max HDFC offer

Does the Amazon 10% HDFC offer apply to the iPhone 17 Pro Max?

Yes, but the discount is small. The 10% is capped at ₹1,250 and applies to HDFC credit card EMI. If you pay the full amount with your HDFC credit card, you get up to ₹750 off. Expect ₹750 to ₹1,250 off the 256GB model, not ₹14,490. Check the discount line at checkout before you pay.

What is the iPhone 17 Pro Max price with the HDFC offer?

On Amazon, about ₹1,43,650 on HDFC credit card EMI, or about ₹1,44,150 if you pay the full amount by HDFC credit card. The listed price is ₹1,44,900. If you pay in full with an HDFC Infinia, the reward points add roughly ₹4,805 in value, bringing the effective price to around ₹1,39,345. Prices and caps change often, so confirm at checkout.

Can I use an HDFC debit card for the iPhone 17 Pro Max offer?

No. Amazon’s Diwali Edition offer covers only HDFC credit cards and credit card EMI. Don’t count on a debit card discount unless the checkout page shows one.

Is no-cost EMI on the iPhone 17 Pro Max really free?

No. The bank still charges interest; the retailer just discounts the price to cancel it out. You pay 18% GST on that interest, plus any processing fee. On ₹1.4 lakh over 12 months, the GST alone comes to around ₹2,240, which is more than Amazon’s ₹1,250 HDFC discount cap. The full amount also blocks your credit limit on day one.

Does Croma have an HDFC offer on the iPhone 17 Pro Max?

Only for Tata Neu HDFC cardholders, and it isn’t an instant discount. They get up to 10% back as NeuCoins from 15 September to 31 December 2026, credited later. We found no other HDFC offer at Croma. Croma’s listed price is ₹1,36,990, which is already lower than Amazon’s price after the HDFC discount.

Is the HDFC offer better than the Axis, SBI or ICICI offer on the iPhone 17 Pro Max?

It beats Axis but not SBI. Flipkart lists the phone at ₹1,49,900. Axis takes ₹4,000 off, which makes it about ₹1,45,900, and SBI takes ₹7,000 off, which makes it about ₹1,42,900. Amazon’s HDFC EMI price of about ₹1,43,650 is ₹2,250 below Axis and ₹750 above SBI. If you pay the full amount instead, HDFC’s price is ₹1,44,150 and the gap to SBI grows to ₹1,250. ICICI’s cashback at the Apple Store covers only the iPhone 18 Pro, because Apple no longer sells the 17 Pro Max.
