If you recently swiped your Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card at an airport lounge and got charged, you hit another rule change. HDFC changed how this card's lounge access works in June 2025, and it still confuses cardholders.

This guide covers the current rules from HDFC Bank's card page and lounge terms: how much you need to spend, how to claim the voucher, where you can use it, and whether it's worth chasing.

🔎 Lounge access a deal-breaker for you? If you'd rather not track a quarterly spend target, find the best credit card for you on Monzy, based on how you actually spend and travel.

TL;DR

  • Domestic: spend ₹50,000 or more in a calendar quarter (Jan–Mar, Apr–Jun, Jul–Sep, Oct–Dec) to earn 2 domestic lounge vouchers. That's up to 8 a year.
  • No more swipe access: free lounge entry by swiping the card ended in June 2025. If you swipe now, the lounge charges you.
  • Claim within 120 days, use within 180 days: vouchers are sent by SMS and email through GyFTR within 30 working days of qualifying.
  • Limited lounge list: vouchers only work at the lounges on HDFC's Tata Neu Infinity list, which covers major metros such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Kochi and Pune.
  • International (Visa): 4 visits a year (1 per quarter) with a Priority Pass you must request from HDFC. Guests cost US$27 + GST per visit.
  • International (RuPay): 4 visits a year (1 per quarter) at RuPay's international lounges.

Domestic lounge access: the ₹50,000 quarterly rule

Since 10 June 2025, HDFC Bank has made domestic lounge access on the Tata Neu Infinity card milestone-based:

Rule

Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card

Spend needed

₹50,000 or more in a calendar quarter

Vouchers earned

2 domestic lounge vouchers per quarter

Yearly maximum

8 vouchers

Quarters

Jan–Mar, Apr–Jun, Jul–Sep, Oct–Dec

Discontinued. Lounges can still charge you at their own rates.

For comparison, the Tata Neu Plus HDFC Bank Credit Card gets just 1 voucher per quarter for the same ₹50,000 spend.

What counts towards the ₹50,000

HDFC's lounge terms spell out a few rules that trip people up:

  • Net spends by posting date. HDFC counts purchases minus refunds and reversals, based on the date each transaction posts, not the date you swiped. A purchase on 30 September that posts on 1 October counts towards the October–December quarter.
  • Refunds carry forward. If a refund from a quarter you've already qualified for posts in the next quarter, it's subtracted from the new quarter's spend. For example, if you get a ₹20,000 refund after qualifying, you'll need ₹70,000 the next quarter.
  • EMI counts slowly. For an EMI purchase, only the principal billed each month counts. A ₹50,000 phone on a 10-month EMI adds just ₹5,000 a month.
  • New card, fresh start. If your card is upgraded, reissued or replaced after loss, only spends on the new card count.
⚠️ Watch out: don't leave your ₹50,000 to the last day of the quarter. HDFC uses posting dates to determine lounge access qualification. A big purchase made on 31 December may count towards January instead. Aim to finish a few days early.

How to claim and use your lounge voucher

  1. Qualify: reach ₹50,000 in net spends within the calendar quarter.
  2. Wait for the message: within 30 working days, GyFTR sends an SMS and email (from hdfcbanktataneucreditcard@gyftr.com) with a link to claim your voucher.
  3. Claim within 120 days: log in on the claim page with the mobile number that received the message, verify the OTP, check your name and email, and tap "Claim Now".
  4. Use within 180 days: show the voucher details and a photo ID at an eligible lounge. The voucher can only be used by the person whose name is on it.

If you need help, HDFC's terms list the GyFTR claim portal for claiming, 1800-1033-313 for reissuing a claimed voucher, and or 1800-571-8990 for problems at the lounge.

Where can you use the domestic vouchers?

The vouchers only work at lounges on HDFC's Tata Neu Infinity list.

💡 Fly mostly from smaller airports? Many cards give lounge access across a much wider network. Find the best credit card for you on Monzy and compare their lounge benefits.

International lounge access

Visa variant (Priority Pass on request): since 1 June 2025, HDFC issues the Priority Pass for this card only on request. If your card is new, renewed or replaced, call HDFC phone banking on 1800 1600 or 1800 2600 to apply for yourself and any add-on cardholders. You then get:

  • 4 complimentary visits a year, 1 per quarter, outside India. This allowance is shared between you and your add-on members.
  • Guests and extra visits at US$27 + GST per visit, billed to your card within 90 days
  • No free visits in India. HDFC says Priority Pass use in India will be charged to your card.

RuPay variant: 4 complimentary visits a year (1 per quarter) at RuPay's international lounges. A $3.25 transaction fee is charged and then reversed. Visits beyond the allowance are up to the lounge, and it will charge you.

Is chasing ₹50,000 a quarter worth it?

It depends on how much of that spending would happen anyway. Here's a quick way to look at it:

  • If you already spend ₹50,000 a quarter on Tata brands (BigBasket, Croma, Tata CLiQ, Taj, Air India and others), you're earning 5% back as NeuCoins on most of it. The 2 vouchers are a bonus on top, so don't change anything.
  • If you'd have to push other spending onto this card to reach ₹50,000, it earns only 1.5% NeuCoins on non-Tata spends (and less on UPI). You'd be trading better rewards on another card for two lounge visits. That's rarely worth it unless you fly every quarter from a listed airport.
  • The renewal fee is ₹1,499 plus GST, waived if you spend ₹3 lakh in a year. Hitting ₹50,000 every quarter gets you to ₹2 lakh, so it doesn't secure the waiver on its own.

FAQs about Tata Neu Infinity HDFC lounge access

Does the Tata Neu Infinity HDFC card have free lounge access?

Yes, but not by swiping the card. You earn 2 domestic lounge vouchers each calendar quarter in which you spend ₹50,000 or more. For international lounges, you get 4 visits a year through a Priority Pass (Visa) or RuPay's lounge programme.

How many lounge visits does the Tata Neu Infinity HDFC card give?

Up to 8 domestic visits a year (2 per qualifying quarter) and 4 international visits a year (1 per quarter).

Can I still swipe my Tata Neu Infinity HDFC card at a lounge?

You can, but it won't be free. HDFC stopped complimentary swipe-based access in June 2025. Lounges can still let you in, but charge you at their own rates.

How do I get Priority Pass on the Tata Neu Infinity HDFC card?

Since June 2025, the Priority Pass is issued only on request. Call HDFC phone banking on 1800 1600 or 1800 2600 to apply for yourself and your add-on cardholders.

Do EMI purchases count towards the ₹50,000 lounge spend?

Only the principal billed each month counts. A ₹50,000 EMI over 10 months adds ₹5,000 a month to your quarterly total, not ₹50,000 at once.

How long is the Tata Neu lounge voucher valid?

You must claim it within 120 days of getting the qualification message. After you claim it, you can use it within 180 days at an eligible lounge.

Is there a better card for lounge access than the Tata Neu Infinity HDFC?

If lounge access is your main goal, many cards cover more airports or have simpler rules. Find the best credit card for you on Monzy to compare them based on your spending.

Conclusion

The Tata Neu Infinity HDFC card still offers lounge access, but you have to earn it. Spend ₹50,000 in a calendar quarter for 2 domestic vouchers at a fixed list of lounges, and request a Priority Pass for 4 international visits a year. It works well if Tata brands already make up most of your spending.

If you'd be forcing spending onto the card just to hit the milestone, a card built for lounge access will serve you better. Not sure which one that is? Find the best credit card for you on Monzy.
